Macbook Pro 64 Bit Or 32 Bit

Hello,
Is there a way to find out whether an app running in our Mac is 32- or 64-bit? OK, I know that big-name apps such Office 2008 or Adobe Acrobat are 64-bit, but what about, say, aMule or Vuze? How can I tell whether such apps that reside in my disk are 32- or 64-bit?
And by the way, does running a 32-bit app in Snow Leopard produce any slowdown or instability in the overall system, or it is just the 32-bit app itself which might behave in a more inferior way but without affecting anything else beside itself?

Ah, you neglect to mention the essential criterion for choosing 64-bit over 32-bit: your system’s installed memory. 64-bit will support more than 4GB RAM, but will be slower if you have little RAM. So I would suggest sticking with 32-bit if your system has less than 4 GB RAM, and use 64-bit if you have more than 4 GB. – roadmr Jun 6 ’13 at 21:08. With the exception of the ’Mid-2010’ Mac Pro models, Intel Macs boot Snow Leopard in 32-bit mode by default, and it’s a bit complicated to sort out which Macs really are capable of booting MacOS X 10.6 ’Snow Leopard’ in 64-bit mode. So basically 64-bit kernel will remain a hindrance until all 3rd party hardware drivers and plugins (such as VMware, printer drivers, camera drivers, etc.) are recompiled to become compatible. Userspace program cant load plugins with other architecture, for example menumeters will work only when you booted legacy, so menubar created by 32-bit application

As for GMA 945, there are drivers available in 64 bit, the problem is that these video cards do not support OpenGL4 which is what mountain lion uses for some parts of their new operating system. This type of boot have another problems: no sound, no proper SATA chipset detection, memory problem as u say, also what with usb and sleep?? Using Chameleon those problems solved by using patched DSDT

I hope you enjoy the benefits of extending the value of your 2006 or 2007 Mac Pro, or being able to change your system back and forth from the 32 to 64 bit kernel for development purposes. The separate drive has the benefit of not having to touch the Mac OS partition at all, so it is very clean, but requires using a drive sled spot or using an additional drive in the optical bay area

Is My Operating System 64 BitI only get beeping (not a single beep though) if i hold the 6 and 4 down for to long, it seems to be a mac version of the default windows beeping when you accidentally depress a key for to long whilst a machine boots, or have a boot problem (I guess windows nicked the idea off of the macs)
